| Torchlight | Good Old Games | 2013/11/14 | Fall Insomnia Sale | Finally got around to beating this game. I'd progressed pretty far before getting tired of clearing floor after floor. I guess that's my fault for choosing the easiest difficulty setting and removing all challenge for myself. To finish the game I just sprinted the floors without stopping to fight anything. Eventually I'd accidentally click to attack an enemy instead of run to an open area and have to stop and fight, but my explosive shot would take care of the tightly packed mob pretty quickly. Finally floors 30 and above (or is that below?) started presenting a challenge, even to my souped up explosive shot, but I continued running anyway. Finally on the 34th floor Alric presented my first REAL challenge. I ran out of health potions during the battle and so went back to town to stock up. When I came back I finished him off pretty easily and followed him to 35. There, I fought Ordrak and had my ass handed to me several times. I ran out of mana potions about half way through the battle, so ran into problems using explosive shot as crowd control. I tried going back to town to restock, as I had done with Alric, but either that isn't possible from the Lair, or I screwed something up trying. Either way I somehow managed to drop the portal scrolls and so couldn't try again later. After finally beating him I ran into my first bug: I was stuck! I couldn't move more than a pace or two in any direction. And my portal scrolls were nowhere to be found! I read online that it's possible to edit some settings to use a console to ascend a floor, but I thought blah it wasn't that great of a game anyway so I'm not too upset that I didn't get to see the ending. Maybe if I look there's a video of the endgame on YouTube or something...EDIT: Just found/watched the ending...REALLY glad I didn't put any effort into modding my game to allow me to see that.
